A Tutorial Video for Photographers

$99 (Australian Dollars)

newborn posing video

This video is perfect for you if you would like an introduction to newborn photography, if you need a little help perfecting the basic poses, or you’re searching for some tips and tricks to make your newborns sessions quicker, easier and more enjoyable. We cover camera and lenses used, exposing for creamy skin, settling techniques and easy poses. Of course, everyone can use a few new post processing techniques and in this video you will watch me take files from RAW to finished images in Adobe Photoshop. The best bit? My processing literally takes around 3-4 minutes per image! Also included is a 20 page digital e-workbook full of inspirational images and further instruction on nailing the poses covered in the video. Video duration: 45 minutes

Newborn Photography: Video Two
A Tutorial Video for Photographers

$99 (Australian Dollars)

posing video for photographers

The second video follows on from the first with more poses using the beanbag, plus posing with Mum, Dad, a 2.5 year old sibling and capturing a family shot. The video follows along while I prepare for a session, pose and photograph each image. This video has less actual talking and is more about watching the photo shoot in progress and seeing the resulting images in their finished state. There is a detailed post processing section where you can watch some of the images be taken from RAW to finished image using Photoshop. The post processing section builds on techniques used in the first video and includes my preferred black and white technique. Video duration: 1hour 35 minutes

"Lana, Thank you. Thank you so much for doing the videos…for sharing and teaching the things you have. You've filled in the little missing pieces in my business in many areas of my newborn photography. I finally today achieved creamy skin and a perfect workflow from preparation through to the post processing. I love the way the videos are presented and I love the music. I had to email you to say thank you." - Jane

New! Birth Photography
An instructional PDF guide for Photographers

$99

birth photography workshop workbook

I have created this downloadable PDF guide alongside renowned birth photographer Georgia Brizulela from Documenting Delight as a response to the growing interest in this exciting genre. The guide covers everything you need to know about photographing births in simple, easy to understand language.

We've designed the book to be accessible to both new and established photographers wanting to add birth photography to their offerings. So we've covered everything from using your camera on manual, to a basic guide on incorporating video into your slideshows, the logistics of working as a birth photographer (when to go on call, when to arrive at the birth, when to leave), a guide to pricing your work, etiquette in the birthing room and everything in between.

This is designed to be an introduction to birth photography so we cover many subjects in short order - if you are already shooting birth sessions this may not be the guide for you. However if you have lots of questions about just getting started and how birth photography might work for you and your business then this guide will be a great starting point.

As an added bonus, you will also receive access to a private Facebook group just for those who purchase the PDF where you can network, as questions and share.

Topics included:

- Equipment, Cameras and lenses, Backup camera and batteries, Shooting in manual mode, Using available light

- The stages of birth, Etiquette in the birth suite, Hospital births, Home births, Common procedures, The ‘circle of trust’

- The Life of a Birth Photographer, When to arrive, when to leave, Being paid for your time, Being on call, Backup photographers, How many clients to take, Refunds

- Documenting a Birth, Telling a story, Finding flattering angles, Using your camera’s video setting, What happens when things don’t go to plan
